Davos Summit: KRG and Qatar Leaders Plan Economic Collaboration

On Tuesday, January 16, 2024, the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Prime Minister, Masrour Barzani, met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Qatar, during the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The discussion centred on the general situation in Iraq and the broader region. A strong focus was placed on enhancing bilateral relations and encouraging investment, particularly highlighting the anticipated influx of Qatari investors into the Kurdistan Region. A contingent of Qatari investors and entrepreneurs is expected to visit the Kurdistan Region soon, in alignment with these goals.
