KRG Prime Minister Meets Norwegian Ambassador to Jordan and Iraq

On 31 January 2024, Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), held a meeting with Espen Lindbeck, the Norwegian Ambassador to Jordan and Iraq.

The meeting focused on the advancement of bilateral relations and shared updates on the most recent developments in Iraq and its neighboring areas.

Ambassador Lindbeck expressed his deep concerns regarding the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps’ missile strike on Erbil on January 15, extending his sincere sympathies to the victims’ families. He reiterated Norway’s strong commitment to fostering peace and stability in both the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

In return, Prime Minister Barzani thanked Norway for its unwavering support and solidarity, emphasising the vital role of the international community in protecting the security of the Kurdistan Region and upholding its constitutional rights within Iraq.
