KRG Prime Minister Meets with Italy’s Ambassador to Iraq

On 19 March 2024, Masrour Barzani, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), met with Maurizio Greganti, the Ambassador of Italy to Iraq.
Their meeting focused on advancing bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and Italy and recent developments in Iraq and the broader region.

Prime Minister Barzani reiterated the importance of conducting fair and democratic elections within a framework to ensure robust representation of all ethnic and religious groups within the Kurdistan Region. He emphasised that any move toward dictatorship and violation of the constitutional rights of the people of the Kurdistan Region would undermine the security, stability, and interests of Iraq as a whole.

Ambassador Greganti reaffirmed Italy’s steadfast support for the security and stability of the Kurdistan Region.
