KRG Prime Minister Discusses Elections with the U.S. Ambassador

On Monday, 9 September 2024, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) convened a meeting with Alina Romanowski, the United States Ambassador to Iraq.

During the meeting they discussed the upcoming general elections in the region.

Prime Minister Barzani underscored the importance of holding the elections in a fair and peaceful environment, ensuring transparency throughout the process, with international oversight and free from any violations.

In addition, the meeting also focused on the current rounds of negotiations between the KRG and the federal government. Prime Minister Barzani noted that the negotiations are conducted in an open and positive atmosphere, hoping for an agreement to benefit both sides and the public.
