Prime Minister Masrour Barzani Receives Iraqi Parliamentary Delegation

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – Today, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received a delegation from the Iraqi Council of Representatives, comprised of members of the Economic, Industry, and Trade Committee.

They discussed the importance of strengthening coordination and cooperation between the Kurdistan Region, the Iraqi Parliament, and the federal government, particularly in supporting legislative initiatives that serve the interests of all Iraqi citizens and communities.

They emphasized the need to guarantee the free movement of goods and trade across all regions of Iraq without barriers or obstacles.

They also discussed the strategic importance of the Development Road project, which aims to connect the Gulf countries, Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, Türkiye, and Europe through new transport corridors. Prime Minister Barzani stressed the need for the Kurdistan Region and all Iraqi components to benefit from this major initiative.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed the importance of upholding Iraq’s federal and constitutional system, which guarantees the rights and responsibilities of all parties.

Prime Ministers Barzani also noted that Iraq is a country rich in natural and human resources and occupies a significant geopolitical position, emphasizing that only good governance and fair administration can secure the rights of all Iraq’s peoples and regions.
