KRG Prime Minister Meets Hungarian President at Davos Forum
On Wednesday, January 17, 2024, Masrour Barzani, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), held discussions with Katalin Novák, the President of Hungary, at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Their meeting focused on the latest developments in Iraq and the broader region, and also the enhancement of bilateral ties between the Kurdistan Region and Hungary.
President Novák offered her condolences to Prime Minister Barzani for the civilian casualties in Erbil following the attack by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on January 15th. She reaffirmed Hungary’s unwavering support for the Kurdistan Region.
In response, Prime Minister Barzani expressed his appreciation to President Novák, emphasising the Kurdistan Region’s dedication to maintaining its position as a key pillar of security and stability in Iraq and the wider region.
