KRG Prime Minister Engages in Dialogue with German Foreign Minister
On Friday, January 19, 2024, Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), held a telephone conversation with Tobias Lindner, Germany’s Foreign Minister.
During the call, Minister Lindner strongly condemned the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps’ attack on Erbil, which occurred on 15 January. He extended Germany’s condolences to Prime Minister Barzani and reaffirmed his country’s steadfast support for the Kurdistan Region.
Prime Minister Barzani expressed his appreciation for Minister Lindner’s support and for Germany’s continued solidarity.
Their discussion also included a consensus on the vital role of the Coalition Forces in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. Both parties agreed on the significance of these forces in aiding the ongoing battle against terrorism.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Barzani and Minister Lindner discussed the current issues between the Kurdistan Region and the Government of Iraq. They stressed the need to resolve these issues in accordance with the Iraqi Constitution, ensuring the protection of the rights and financial entitlements of the Kurdistan Region.
