PM Masrour Barzani meets Japanese Ambassador to Iraq

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Monday met with Kotaro Suzuki, the Japanese Ambassador to Iraq.

In the meeting, both sides discussed bilateral relations and the latest developments in Iraq and the wider region.

Prime Minister Barzani expressed his gratitude for Japan’s support, particularly through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). He also reiterated the Kurdistan Regional Government’s desire to strengthen ties with Japan in various fields.

The Japanese Ambassador praised the Ninth Cabinet’s reform agenda and attempts at diversifying the economy through increasing investment opportunities and supporting the private sector. He further expressed his country’s desire to further develop ties with the Kurdistan Region.
