PM Masrour Barzani meets Commander of US CENTCOM

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Thursday met with Lt. General Michael Kurilla, the Commander of the US Central Command.

In the meeting, both sides discussed the latest developments in Iraq and the wider region, as well as the development of bilateral ties between the Kurdistan Region and the US.

Prime Minister Barzani expressed his gratitude for the US support offered to the Peshmarga forces, and briefed the attendees of the meeting on the Ninth Cabinet’s reform agenda.

The Commander praised the sacrifices of the Peshmerga forces in the war against the so-called Islamic State (ISIS), and reiterated his country’s commitment towards helping the Peshmerga forces.

Ongoing disputes between Erbil and Baghdad and the importance of resolving them on the basis of the Constitution was another topic of discussion.
