PM Masrour Barzani meets with EU delegation

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Thursday met with a delegation of the European Union representation in Iraq and Syria led by Ville Varjola, the EU Ambassador to Iraq.

Both sides discussed the latest developments in Iraq and Syria, and means of further developing relations between the Kurdistan Region and the European Union.

The EU Ambassador to Iraq praised the Ninth Cabinet’s reform process and expressed the EU’s desire to provide assistance to the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

The head of the EU’s mission to Syria expressed their gratitude for the KRG’s humanitarian aid to Syrian refugees in the Kurdistan Region.

Prime Minister Barzani addressed the strong relationship between the Kurdistan Region and countries of the European Union and expressed the KRG’s desire to further develop those ties.

Prime Minister Barzani further expressed the KRG’s support for the Region’s elections and the government’s willingness to assist the process.
