Readout of PM Masrour Barzani’s phone call with German Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today spoke by telephone with German Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office, Tobias Lindner.

During the call, Prime Minister Barzani expressed his personal appreciation for the support of the German government and stressed the importance of further strengthen the already strong bilateral relationship between Erbil and Berlin.

Minister Lindner condemned the recent attacks on the Kurdistan Region saying that the violation of the territorial integrity of the Kurdistan Region is unacceptable.

The Minister also conveyed Germany’s support for a stable Kurdistan Region and Iraq, and reassured the importance of forming a government in Baghdad that reflects the will of the people.

He also reaffirmed that German forces will remain in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq after the German Parliament approves the measures.
