Readout of PM Masrour Barzani’s phone call with the new President of Iraq

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today spoke by telephone with the newly elected President of Iraq, Dr. Latif Rashid.

In his statement, the Prime Minister said the following:

“I have spoken to Dr. Latif Rashid to congratulate him on being named the new President of the Federal Republic of Iraq.

“I urged him to uphold his solemn responsibility to protect the Constitutional rights of all Iraqis, including those of the Kurdistan Region.

“We have all endured far too much turmoil, and we must now harness a real drive to start afresh.

“The needs of the public can no longer be secondary”
