Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – The Kurdistan Regional Government issued the following statement on Eid al-Fitr:
“With the arrival of Eid al-Fitr, we warmly congratulate the entire Muslim community, and hope that your fasting and prayers are accepted.
“The Kurdish people have always been diverse in their religious beliefs and the Kurdistan Region has provided one of the strongest examples of peaceful coexistence emanating from religious belief.
“Thankfully, during the Holy Month of Ramadan, the government took the necessary security measures to provide peace and stability, and also carefully observed market prices in order to ensure people could afford essential goods.”
